Desert Pea Media works towards an Australia where Original Nations people are respected, embraced and supported to live a life of their own design.

The ongoing disadvantage for Original Nations communities shows that colonisation is not just in our past but continues to divide Australia.

Desert Pea Media is a response to this.

DPM is a charitable organisation established in 2002, that works with Indigenous young people and communities in regional and remote areas of Australia.  Our collaborative projects utilise contemporary storytelling techniques and audio-visual media to facilitate important social and cultural dialogue.

For almost two decades, we have collaborated with young people, Elders, knowledge holders, community members and local service providers around Australia to create an inter-generational conversation, proper way, about positive social change and identity.  Our media and creative works are an outcome of these yarns.

“If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together”
