IMPACT SPECIALIST
We are seeking a skilled and experienced ‘Impact Specialist’ to lead a collaborative process with DPM Staff (and other Specialists). The goal is to create an ‘Impact Story’ & ‘Impact Strategy’ that both identifies & articulates DPM’s social impact and recommends strategies to expand existing social impact. The overall objective is organisational expansion and diversification for ongoing viability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a collaborative process with DPM Staff, and other Specialists (Fundraising & Partnerships Specialist and Marketing&Comms Specialist) to undertake the following:
Review the existing social impact of DPM’s community programs/processes, existing research & assets, media outputs, presentation platforms, profile etc.
Develop a compelling ‘Impact Story’ to articulate the value/impact of DPM’s work
Identify opportunities/models for strengthening DPM’s social impact and viability
Target new audiences/presentation platforms and sector engagements that increase social impact opportunities.
Produce an aspirational yet practical Impact Strategy (relevant to a small NGO) that integrates with Marketing Strategy and Philanthropic/Corporate Partnership Strategy
Deliverables:
Impact Review
Impact Strategy including ‘Impact Story’ (appropriate to small NGO)
Identify a Resource/ Asset List (eg. pitch decks, testimonials, partner case studies).
Minimum 3 new presentation/engagement recommendations (with rationale).
Fee: $15,000
Schedule (TBC upon appointment – flexible)
July: Briefing, review, commence Impact Story draft.
August: Draft Impact Story presented at Round Table workshop for collaborative input/feedback.
September - Oct: Impact Strategy draft, final review, delivery, and recommendations.
NOTE – In the essence of collaboration we are open to adjusting priorities, schedules and workflows, within the wider objectives the Strategy Development process. All work must be completed by November at latest.
Definitions:
Theory Of Change: DPM’s diagram of the strategies, actions, conditions and resources that facilitate change and achieve outcomes. The DPM Theory of Change was created as an outcome of an Independent Evaluation/ Research process in 2020 and has since been revised (but the revision not formally adopted). It describes the different embedded ‘Impact Pathways’ in DPM’s processes, programs and outputs.
Impact Story: A narrative that articulates how DPM brings about positive social change. It's a compelling way to communicate the effects our work, DPM’s ‘social value’ and demonstrating the impact beyond just data or deliverables.
Impact Strategy: DPM’s overall plan to create positive change and expand the ripple effect of our work. intentionally designing programs, processes and presentations to expand our specific social outcomes and amplify the impact story.
Points of Difference: The unique qualities, features, or benefits that distinguish DPM’s brand, programs, impacts and outputs from others.
