Launch: DPM turns idea of ‘black and white’ in Indigenous Australia on its head.

The Deni Mob is a group of incredible, young Original Nations artists from Barapa Barapa and Wemba Wemba country in Deniliquin, NSW.

State Of The Heart is a brave, uplifting future dub/reggae anthem written for anyone who struggles to fit into ideas of 'black and white' in Indigenous Australia. It articulates an important inter-generational conversation about belonging, country, identity and culture.  The issues raised in this song around race and cultural identity are complex and often difficult to talk about.  The co-writers and performers showed great bravery and intelligence, and it was an incredible experience to be a part of.

The group has evolved from a storytelling project with local Elders, funded by The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and RAMJO Murray Waste Group , hosted by  Deniliquin Local Aboriginal Lands Council and Deniliquin High School and facilitated/directed by DPM.
